FREELANCE WRITING 101: My Class for Aspiring Authors
Many people say they would like to write for a living, but few know where to begin. From FREELANCE WRITING 101, aspiring authors will learn how to generate ideas, research markets, develop their talent, and plan for the long haul. I use plenty of handouts and on-line examples—and homework is given!
I use the acronym WRITE to teach this 1 ½ hour, 4-week course:
Willingness to Work
Reading & Research
Ideas, Inspiration & Information
I taught FREELANCE WRITING 101 at the Montclair Adult School in the fall of 2009. Here’s what a student there had to say in my evaluation: “Penny Musco was extremely knowledgeable about the topic, as well as resourceful and informative. I got exactly what I hope for—and more—out of the class.”
In 2010, I taught FREELANCE WRITING 101 at The Adult School of the Chathams, Madison & Florham Park in New Jersey.
